Protected by a strict set of preservation guidelines unique to this neighbourhood, the proposal offers a vision of thoughtful and precise urban renewal.
Maintaining the existing qualities of the historic neighbourhood and the design of its residential typologies, such as access to rich green space, ample lighting and ventilation, the project allows the neighbourhood to rejuvenate and grow while respecting the existing qualities of the area.
The four new residential buildings are each 5.5 storeys tall, with large open green spaces in between, creating a large shared public space. Drawing inspiration from the local Kibbutz typology, the project attempts to mitigate the public and the private through the invention of a new shared public space.
